WHILE YOU’RE HERE
Free & low-cost things to do in Hawaii
Plan a lower-cost day around public beaches, town walks, cultural stops and verified free events.
Start with public places
Many public beaches and scenic town walks have no attraction ticket. Parking, transit, rentals and some State Park entry can still cost money. Read each place’s access notes before choosing it.
Free for residents is different
Some parks waive entry or parking for Hawaiʻi residents with accepted ID. That does not mean admission is free for visitors. Use the operator’s current eligibility rules.

Before setting out, check current State Park closures and local weather alerts. Reservations do not override a closure.
